Nominee, 1994 Academy Award / Best Makeup
Some of the best visual effects in Kenneth Branagh's over-the-top gothic tale come
from the makeup department, headed by Daniel Parker. The creature's makeup is
extraordinary, and holds up under enormous scrutiny, such as extended closeups of
Robert De Niro. The Academy, in their infinite wisdom, passed up FRANKENSTEIN for the
award for Best Makeup, giving the award to ED WOOD. Check out Cinefex 60
