One of Digital Magic's amazing composites, an asteroid blasts through two buildings before destroying the roof of Grand Central Station. The whip-panned shot featured dozens of miniature and digital elements composited against a real-life New York skyline background. |
Two of the film's signature images, New York's Chrysler building is severed at the head and comes crashing down to the streets. In this dynamic shot, composited by Digital Magic, debris flies toward the ground, as well as poor souls who fly right by the camera, as the pointed top of the building angles its way downward. The building itself is a miniature created by Hunter-Gratzner Industries. |
