After dozens of feature films and countless television and broadcast projects, Banned From The Ranch completed its first music video project - the highly anticipated first video from Jennifer Lopez. Directed by renowned music video director Paul Hunter, the video for the single "If You Had My Love" is a stylish, sleek, voyeuristic look at the life of the singer. Jennifer's fans of all ages around the world look into her world via the internet. BFTR was approached to provide the extensive computer graphics and video displays for the music video. BFTR's Brent Coert produced the graphics, working with video producer Skot Bradford and post-production supervisor Chris Morrison.

The video opens with a young man searching the internet for "Jennifer Lopez." He finds her web site, and through a series of clips, is able to watch Jennifer moving around her stylized home. Working with Paul, computer graphics supervisor Todd Vaziri developed the organization and style of the video's graphics. From the beginning, the intention was to make sure the video's web site would match the real-life Jennifer Lopez web site... a site that was yet to be developed. Todd worked closely with Kioken Design, who was contracted to design the real-life web site. (For more information on Kioken, visit their web site.)

Transferring files back and forth over the internet (BFTR is located in Santa Monica, CA, Kioken in New York City), Todd created interactive presentations in Macromedia Director to simulate computer desktops and the web site itself. Using the fictional "NetBot" software (created by BFTR for the graphics in AMERICAN PIE), actors clicked on various buttons, launching streaming video of Jennifer Lopez. The video was compressed in Adobe Premiere, with effects created in Adobe After Effects. A WebTV-like interface, dubbed "InternetTV," was also created.

Technical Supervisor Glenn Cannon, Christopher Noviello and James Renn set up the various computer systems that ran the web site. A Macintosh Powerbook, a specially configured iMac (to synch with the film camera at 24 frames per second), a flatpanel display, and others. In addition, the BFTR team rigged a series of television monitors to play video for the dance club sequence.

The final video is a slick entry for Jennifer Lopez and BFTR into the music video world, where the graphics used in the video closely resemble the artist's real-life web site (jenniferlopez.com).
