Rhythm & Hues also created a computer generated spear and rope, fired by Jason Patric. The spear and rope shot is seamless, and the visual effect is completely invisible to the viewer.
Rhythm & Hues' CGI plane rests upon the top of the mast of the huge oil tanker. Careful matching of lighting and position of the CGI plane to the full-scale set plane used for inserts was integral to the scene's success.
Finally, R&H created the stunning finale explosion of the oil tanker going up in flames. If you look really carefully at one of these shots on the big screen, you'll see something very interesting fly out of the tanker as part of the debris.
